i love nicholas negroponte. being digital was so far ahead of its time, it's ridiculous. anyhow, i'm in the middle of writing a paper. but how's this for an alternative medium? a laptop that will retail for under a hundred dollars, will run on Linux, will function in rugged environments using a hand-crank (1 minute of cranking = 100 mins of laptop operation) and will be distributed to students in the developing world as an e-book and teaching tool.
